PRODUCT INFORMATION
Background Information

Swine influenza (Swine influenza) is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by swine influenza virus, which is one of the influenza A viruses. Swine influenza causes the swine to develop suddenly and symptoms such as cough, dyspnea, fever and loss of energy. It is characterized by recovery in 5-7 days and mortality rate is less than 1%. The disease is spread all over the world and the seasonal rate of infection is not very clear, but the incidence is somewhat high between late autumn and early spring. The pathogen of swine influenza virus is the influenza A virus (H1N1, H1N2, H3N2). Influenza viruses are divided into three types of A, B, and C based on antigenic differences between nucleoprotein (NP) and matrix (M) proteins. Among them, influenza A viruses are classified as hemagglutinin HA) and neuraminidase (NA) glycoproteins. Influenza A viruses can be seen in people, pigs, horses, and birds. Type B and type C can be seen only in humans. The disease was first diagnosed in a pig farm in Illinois, USA in 1918, when the first outbreak occurred in a pig of millions of dollars and killed several thousand. It is also reported that more than 20 million people have died of influenza, which is called the Spanish flu on a global scale. Pandemic influenza occurs independently of the sex and age of pigs, but seasonal factors are known to have a major impact. Thus, most occurrences occur during cooler periods, f rom late autumn to early spring. Also, on farms where this disease has occurred f rom late autumn to early spring, this disease usually does not occur f rom autumn to the following epidemic.

The LiliF ™ SIV-NP RT-PCR Kit was designed to detect very rapidly and accurately the nonstructural proteins of swine influenza virus based on a genetic database. RT-PCR, reverse transcription -Polymerase Chain Reaction) to amplify only specific genes, which is a very fast and reliable method. Each tube in the kit contains polymerase, reverse transcriptase, dNTPs, 10x reaction buffer, RNase inhibitor, specific primers for detection, and tracking dye for hot start PCR, except templates for swine influenza virus gene specific amplification. It is very easy to add only distilled water and template for RT-PCR.

Principle

• This product is used for the detection of genes that are qualitatively detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) to detect swine influenza virus pathogens f rom deep nasal swabs, trans-tracheal wash, lung and whole blood of pigs.

• This product is optimized for the general purpose PCR machine with 0.2 ml PCR tube thermal block and is based on the genetic database of swine influenza virus so that reaction products can be formed by the specific primers of swine influenza virus.

• After completion of the reaction, confirm whether a band of target size is detected using an electrophoresis apparatus and agarose gel.

Intended Use

• For Research Use Only, Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

• This kit is developed, designed, and sold for research purpose only. It is not intended to be used for human or animal diagnosis of diseases. Prior to using it for other purposes, the user must validate the system in compliance with the applicable law, directives, and regulations.

• This product is research reagent of infectious disease for professional use to restrict the public use for animal diseases.
