Background Information

Mycoplasma hyopneumonia the causative agent of enzootic pneumonia and plays an important role in the porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC). The chronic form of the disease affects up to 80% of pigs around the world and is characterized by high morbidity and low mortality rates. As a single infection, it causes enzootic pneumonia, a prevalent and persistent respiratory disease of swine.
