PRODUCT INFORMATION
Background Information

The heartworm is known as Dirofilaria immitis, a mosquito-borne roundworm. Because it is a small thread-like parasite, it is called a pathogen. The native host is a dog, but it is also infected with cats, wolves, coyotes, foxes, ferrets, sea lions, and very rarely people in certain situations. Although this parasite is called a heartworm, it is present in not only the heart but also the pulmonary artery, and it damages the pulmonary blood vessels and lung tissue and has a great influence on the health of the animal. Sometimes adults migrate from the right heart, After that, the vena cava will be present. Heartworm infections cause serious illness to the host, resulting in congestive heart failure leading to death. Heartworms go through several stages of life before they become infected by the pulmonary artery in the host. Heartworms need mosquitoes as an intermediate step to complete life cycle. In mosquitoes, the growth rate depends on the temperature. If the temperature is above 27 degrees, the next step will take about 2 weeks. When the temperature drops below 14 degrees, the growth stops and life stops. Thus, transmission occurs in warm weather, and generally does not show any symptoms or illness until the larva has matured into the heart. Many dogs develop asymptomatic or mild symptoms of heartworms that grow into adults. This can be a very weak infection or when the animal is low in activity. However, if you have a lot of activity, or if you have more infections, you have some of the most common symptoms of heartworm disease. The initial symptoms are coughing, especially when exercising, coughing is more severe and tired easily. When it progresses further without treatment, it causes severe weight loss, fainting, hemorrhage, and finally congestive heart failure.

LiliF™ HW PCR Kit was designed to detect the nonstructural proteins of the heart warm directly based on the genetic database and to diagnose it very quickly and accurately. Using PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) within 2 hours, It is characterized by its ability to amplify only specific genes, making it a very fast and reliable method. Each tube in the kit contains polymerase, dNTPs, 10x reaction buffer, RNase inhibitor, specific primers for detection, and tracking dye for hot start PCR, except for template specific amplification for PCR. It is very easy to add only distilled water and template.

Principle

• This product is a research reagent for animal which is qualitatively detected by PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) in order to detect heartworm pathogen in dog blood.

• In other words, it is a product that can be detected qualitatively quickly by adding DNase / RNase free water, which is a positive control substance supplied in the product, from Viral DNA extracted from animal blood using gene extraction kit.

• This product is optimized for general purpose PCR machine with 0.2 ml PCR tube thermal block. Based on the genomic database of heartworms, the reaction products are formed by specific primers of heartworms. Use an electrophoresis device and agarose gel to check if the band of the target size is detected.

Intended Use

• For Research Use Only, Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

• This kit is developed, designed, and sold for research purpose only. It is not intended to be used for human or animal diagnosis of diseases. Prior to using it for other purposes, the user must validate the system in compliance with the applicable law, directives, and regulations.

• This product is research reagent of infectious disease for professional use to restrict the public use for animal diseases.
