PRODUCT INFORMATION
Background Information
Dengue virus (DENV) is the cause of dengue fever. It is a mosquito-borne single positive-stranded RNA virus of the family Flaviviridae; genus Flavivirus. Five serotypes of the virus have been found all of which can cause the full spectrum of disease. Nevertheless, scientists are finding their understanding of dengue virus may be simplistic, as rather than distinct antigenic groups there appears to be a continuum. This same study identified 47 strains of dengue virus. Additionally, coinfection with and lack of rapid tests for zika virus and chikungunya complicate matters in real world infections.
Dengue fever needs to be differentiated from other viral infections that are transmitted by insect mediators, and is diagnosed by DNA detection methods. IgM antibodies are detected from 6 to 7 days after the symptoms appear and the virus can be detected in the blood by cell culture. Recently, a PCR method based on the gene database of the virus is used to diagnose.
This product can detect Type 1, 2, 3, and 4 of dengue fever by one step RT-PCR method based on gene database and is very sensitive, quick and accurate diagnosis. Based on the specific sequence of the DV1 ~ 4pP gene of Dengue fever virus, this product can distinguish each DV 1 ~ 4 in five bands including internal control.
Principle
•The LiliF ™ DENV RT-PCR Identification Kit employs RT-PCR technology and the iNtRON technology, CLP ™ (Complementary locking primer) technology, was applied to the primer sequence to increase the specificity of the reaction. This product has been configured to perform RT-PCR reaction by dividing types 1 to 4 of Dengue virus into different PCR sets.
•This product consists of 5 bands. DENV-1 is designed to have a band size of 150bp, DENV-2 to 200bp, DENV-3 to 299bp and DENV-4 to have a band size of 400bp. The internal positive control (IPC) is designed to be formed at 994bp.
•By using internal positive control (IPC), sample RNA and IPC DNA can be amplified at the same time so that RT-PCR operation can be checked.
Intended Use
• This product is a reagent for qualitative detection by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) to distinguish four types of dengue virus from whole blood or serum.
